If you get another moving violation in the probation period (usually 1 year), both violations are reported to insurance and count as points towards suspension of your license.

It is ALWAYS advisable to pay for the traffic school because insurance rate hikes are the gift that keeps on giving... and reported violations can significantly raise your rates.

P.S. There are no tests in traffic school. It is mandated time in class... but you can sign up for instruction in a language you don't know and it still will count.

The area I was in was "depressed". I would guess that if you wanted any drugs, this might be the place to go. The first thing the cop did was open the passenger door and have a good look around. The biggest shock he had was that I was an old white man.
So I have a feeling the stop sign was just to get the guy pulled over. Kinda like a blown out tailight.

Necessary? Not really....only if you want to prevent injury to yourself. Kind of a stupid law in my opinion...let idiots be free like motorcycle riders that don't wear a helmet. Just don't penalize the other party in an accident when those not wearing a seatbelt are injured.

Yes, in Florida you can elect to take traffic school for certain violations, then the violation results in no points, just the cost of the school and a fee to the Clerk of Courts. However you can only voluntarily take the school 5 times in your lifetime...., the court however can require you to take the course as part of sentencing in addition to, or in place of, fines. Better bet is to hire a traffic attorney (ticket fixer).

Is that true? But if I do a u-turn on a barren side road a cop reads me the riot act. True story. It's how I learned that, in Oregon, it was illegal by default.

Sometimes they care, sometimes they don't. I've never been ticketed and only got pulled over once when it wasn't even me doing anything.

I got passed by a challenger that must have been doing 120+ on the highway the other day. He went right by an OSP Tahoe that was on the side of the road, same side of the highway, and I don't even think he was given a second glance.
