Well tomorrow is the day for purchasing pre-sale tickets for next years Miami F1 race,, so we're like 8 months in advance of race. I was on the pre-sale list for this year's race and everything sold to the resellers before we had a chance. I remain skeptical that tickets we be made available as there are plenty of disclaimers in their email that 'tickets may be sold out prior to pre-sale'. Then there's the cost. They are only selling 3 day passes. Last year the resellers started at $1700. I'll watch it on TV at that price.

That $50 subscription for F1 TV doesn't sound so bad anymore.

Gonna save everyone that didn't watch live to save some time.
1st Lap safety car.
2nd Lap red flag.

Restart after nearly 2 hr 15min after start.
2 laps behind safety car and race is back on. 40 min left.

BTW great racing and ending.

I thought the clip of Alonso sitting in his garage covering his face with his hands peering through his fingers was a nice touch.

If Sainz didn't have bad luck he'd have no luck at all.

It was a pretty wonderful race. Im not the fondest of RedBull, but one must acknowledge when something splendid has been achieved, and that is what I've seen this year, an splendid team that was consistent with race strategy, a rocket ship of a car, on the hands of a very quick driver. Hats off to them. My heart is with McLaren, but I've been following Mercedes for years, and yesterday's race was probably the best race Mercedes had in quite a bit. Just couldn't keep up with the straight line speed of the RB, but put up a great fight til the very end. That whole track limit convo was hilarious once Lewis got his black and white flag.

Yes, Lando, great drive. Kid got some serious talent.

But the highlight has got to be Alonso and Vettel, how the Alpine didn't DNF is beyond me, and still finished 7th. Insane. That 30 second penalty was some BS, compared to what Russell did. Though I did think, for a quick second, about a possible sort of penalty after his mirror flew out.

Im ready for next season at this point and I really do hope that those teams that couldn't quite figure out the aero issues are able to come up with a better solution once the season ends.

Also because F1 2022 will be discounted on Steam......

Alpine will try to remove Alonso's penalty on a technicality, but I'm not holding my breath.

I honestly don't understand the rules related to items flying off cars (i.e. mechanically unsafe). To me if an object is OBVIOUSLY loose then the stewards should call the car in to have it removed/fixed. No questions.

On the other hand, if the stewards won't call the cars in, and teams don't voluntarily fix the issues, then yeah, give them penalties if the objects/devices fly off the cars.

Seems pretty straightforward, no?

I agree, I forget exactly who was behind Alonso by the moment the mirror completely yeeted itself out. Could've been considerably dangerous had it hit the driver behind.

They showed the mirror flapping a good number of occasions and neither did Alpine or race control said anything. So I would say its kind of a 50-50 blame between team and race control. On the team, for not removing it during a pit stop, trying to keep the car on track. Race control for not calling Alpine out during the multitude of laps they had to do so.

Pretty sure it was Kmag who has been meatball'd a bunch this season. That is why Haas protested.
