Yet in the end, they signed a contract voluntarily and are at the needs of the Army. Though most who are being chaptered are lower NCOs (Corporals-E6). The ones that are having a harder time being booted out are like Sergeant Majors who basically need Congress to fire them.

Many things have chanced since I was last in and it hurts my heart and soul. It's all about hearts and minds and making sure you don't tell PFC Butthurt to try harder on their PT test. Otherwise they will get upset. But I know it's the trend of younger people and our society to question everything and resist. I get it, it's good to question, but there's a point where you're just being an ass and making everything harder on everyone else.

Brings to mind the time when my company had to go through that in AIT at Fort Ord. I had a couple of NCOs that were downright mean. The "gas chamber" was an old wooden building with two doors. The soldiers would be herded in one door, with their masks on, and shuffled around for a few minutes.

Then when they got to the exit door, they were told to remove their masks and shout out their name, rank and SN. Then they were directed towards the exit door. The two mean NCOs on the outside would hold the door closed for a spell, if they didn't like the soldier.

About 20 feet outside the exit door, down a slope was a ditch. If the NCOs REALLY didn't like the soldier, when exiting, they were told to run, to clear their eyes - right into the ditch -

Hahaha that's good family fun right there. After the fact, I actually felt pretty cleared up from the Georgian allergies.

One of the downsides of working for the government is the way in which you word things. Today after PT one of the soldiers lit up a cigarette and I made the comment I couldn't smell it. For context I am extremely sensitive to the odor of cigarettes and can usually spot one from an abnormally long distance. Well one of the guys in my platoon took that wrong and freaked out and began asking if I have COVID. I will admit, that is unusual that I couldn't smell it, so now I gotta quarantine and go get tested. I've been at home for 6 hours and I'm going insane.
