Do tell more when you get a chance.

I think AutoX is fun too, I’m just not quick at it and my car would be classed ridiculously.

BTW you find a helmet that fits better?

Helmet:. I'm actually sticking with the same helmet. It seems to fit fine after wearing it a bit more and swapping padding shims around.

Ran with a local Porsche club, about 1/2 of the cars were Porsches and then a crazy mix of everything from a Corolla to an R8 at various levels of preparation.

I was lucky to be working one of the difficult sections of the track the first heat and got to see good and bad ways of running it.

First two runs I took an instructor. He was telling me my lines and balance were good for the most part, just look at incremental improvements. Went a bit off course at turn 2 my first lap (soo many cones) but didn't have any other issues or penalties as far as I can tell from timing. I do need to start looking at the next gate earlier on the tighter sections, but I think that's somewhere I can improve next time.

Timing wise, I was obviously on the slower end of things, but I finished outside the bottom 10 overall so that's not a bad start. Another second (which I know the car has the ability to do) would put me well into the more competitive grouping.

As far as technical matters, I think I could use a bit more camber up front. I got great help on the grid with getting tire pressures right. My third run the pressures got too high and now I know what that feels like (tires basically felt greasy). Not once did I wish I had more power.

Tons of fun of course. Reminds me I need to sign up for the next one...

I find myself in an interesting situation lately. At my apartment complex we usually meet other people with dogs. One of the dogs Haru really gets along with belongs to this slightly older lady (I'd guess maybe 35-40 give or take). So she's 5+ years older than me.

Couple months ago when Haru got neutered we started joking around a lot usually about that procedure and how Haru would be afterward.

Long story short for maybe the last month now we've been flirting a LOT. Or at least it seems that way (I'm always really bad at these types of things). At the time of the neutering and stuff she insisted on giving me her number. So since then we text fairly frequently.

She's divorced and has two kids. One in middle school and one in elementary school I think. I'm not really the type to be interested in someone with kids and/or has been married previously so the situation is really kinda unusual for me.

But the nice thing is she's been a huge change of pace from girls closer to my age (even at ~30) who are completely immature still. We still joke quite a bit, sometimes about relatively sexual things and sometimes just a lot of dog related stuff or personal things. But also have had decent conversations about life, like where we'd want to live if not in this expensive turd of an area. And other interesting topics. This is all either when our dogs play, sometimes for at least an hour, or via texts.

I'm kinda wrestling with what I should do lol.

My vote would be to do nothing.

Don't change/do anything. If you do, then things might get awkward and you could lose the simple enjoyment of each other's company that you have now.

Plus, she has kids from a prior marriage.

MomHawk and I are 5.5 years difference in age (I’m older) and it has only been an issue when discussing retirement. Well, when we meet, she was 22 and looked 17, and I was 27 and looked 40 so that was awkward for a while.

The kids wouldn’t really be an issue for me although I would not want to get heavily involved with them until I knew where it’s going.

Things that come to mind:
Navigating an early relationship can be tricky at the best of times. Throw a couple of kids into the mix and the path becomes even more twisty.
Don't sleep with her unless you are thinking about pursuing a stronger relationship.
If you want a simple life don't go there.
You say "I'm not really the type to be interested in someone with kids and/or has been married previously" so you might have a crush. If this is the case enjoy her company just as it is.

These are my thoughts. As to what you should do, I can't help.

The wife and I were out for dinner and people kept on staring at us and making comments. Kept saying pedo, you're a pedo. Admittedly there's quite an age difference. I'm 40 and she's 19. But the whispering and stares wouldn't stop. We finally decided to leave but it completely ruined our 10 year anniversary.

It's a joke. You can laugh anytime.

5 years is nothing to me, only gets less with time.

the question is how well does she hide the crazy?

Just keep things going as is for now and don’t stress it.

The older you get, it becomes more likely that they have kids/previous marriage. Having kids tends to grow people up fast who may have been immature before. Once you start getting over 30 and they haven’t been married or had kids, that’s where you find the real psychos.

Sigh one month left for me until I am certifiably a psycho!
