Here in VA it's part of state inspection to pass visual, and in the last couple of years it has become stricter. No one ever checked anything before. Now they do. It's been some time since I've read the laws, but I believe it requires "OEM or OEM replacement" parts in regard to anything emissions or sound related. Now cops won't pull you over for this stuff unless it's blatantly obvious, but if you're being an ass and getting pulled over, they will ticket you for it. Some counties are worse than others.

To bring this back to light. I asked why they deleted comments questioning their gains and their word for word response is "Because we are addressing all questions in the next video."
When asked about the low baseline this was the response. "That’s exactly why it was done the way it was done. There’s no way to skew numbers doing back-to-back, same-day testing. Dynos are a tool and are best used this way when comparing numbers. There could be many factors for this discrepancy, like wear from the ton of silicone inside the engine. Heat is a major factor in power production. Even with a correction factor, it is never 100% accurate. The car made 210-212whp in a cool 60*F day off the lot. It has never made 210whp ever again and I have dyno’d it several times. You can expect a gain over any “base number” with this header, if you perform back-to-back testing "

Fixed The issue is that 99.9% of Dynojets do not have absorbing capabilities. As mentioned, this makes them great to compare numbers for part development, but terrible for tuning. The ability to do steady state tuning (i.e. closed loop speed control) is utterly critical for producing a robust tune.

I wonder if the cat in the stock header failed prematurely or the stock ecu is programmed to pull timing after the test drive lol

They chop the cat, completely hollow it out and weld in a pipe that matched the size of your current exhaust and weld it back on. Bang, you passed visual.

You know how these guys really screwed up though?
They probably didn't pull the charcoal filter from the airbox for another 10hp.

This thread derailed very fast, from suspicious gains to EPA laws
