I needed to cancel it at two places, my home (we've cut that cord) and my in-law's house which I was paying for as well to help them out (I've cut their cord). We now get the same channels (at least those we watch) for less than 1/3rd the price of Dish.
So, how do you get a signal?

ChannelMaster Long Range Antenna installed in my attic. It was installed to pick up old analog signals and HDTV signals when HDTV was a new thing and cable/satellite didn't carry the signal. It has been in disuse since about 2008 but is now getting a work out.

Same here. I use Xfinity for Internet, and the second location is AT&T. The second location was grandfathered in by AT&T to get rid of DSL service, so my mother-in-law has bidirectional 1gig service for $50 per month!

Cool. When we moved here, CenturyLink partnered with AT&T to have internet and tv. I got big discounts because of the bundle, but always got 2 separate bills. I don't think CL knows, or cares I canned ATT.

So a couple months ago, I call CL because our internet was really messing up. They said we had too many devices for our plan. I was on the phone for about an hour, transferred 4 times, and ended up with the loyalty department. Seems I have about 3 different discounts. They ended up coming out, guy spent about 2 hours on the pole and on the side of the house, New router, and triple the gigabits or whatever they are, all at no additional per month (around $55), and all the installation free. An hour of frustration paid off that time.

My Sirius story. When I got my truck in '05 it came with a free year. When I called to activate, the gal said they had a great deal for me. If I forfeit my free year, they could sell me 2 years for $200. I asked how much a single year costs, she said $100.

Can't make this up.
