With that you could buy "more" car, like Mustang or Camaro. Even a Charger if you need 4 doors
And this expensive GR Corolla is any different from any insanely priced hot hatch car like a WRX STI (well it doesnt exist anymore this gen), Golf R, or a Civic Type R?

Still, this doesn't thwart my plans to buy a Circuit. Fingers crossed on that one.
Do you have an order with a firm contract and deposit?
Are you an "influencer", employed by a dealer or have any other inside way to get one of the 1,500 being made?
If your answer to both is no then...

Well the way I look at it:
WRX/STI: less reliable, inferior handling, not a hatch.
Golf R: less reliable, craptastic interior interface.
CTR: FWD (and if production rumors are true it'll be hard to find thus probably a lot of ADM)

$36500 Core
$42,900 Circuit
$50,000 Morizo

"When they do become available, though, GR Corolla Core models will have the optional Performance (dual LSD, red-painted front and rear brake calipers, 14-inch by 1.1-inch slotted and ventilated front rotors, 11.7-inch by 0.7-inch ventilated rear rotors; $1,180), Technology (JBL audio system, navigation, Qi-compatible wireless phone charging; $770), and Cold Weather (heated front seats and heated steering wheel; $500) packages, as well as Supersonic Red ($425) as a premium paint. Circuit Editions offer optional Supersonic Red and Heavy Metal exterior paints, both for $425. Morizo Editions similarly offer Windchill Pearl ($425) or matte-finish Smoke ($1,645) exterior paint. "

All in all, take a Core, rip the back seat out, all internals from the doors, get the performance package, and remove the charcoal filter from the intake and BAM, you got yourself a Morizo. Don't forget to wrap the hood and roof in C.F.

Jokes aside, 36,000 aint bad at all, logistics aside.

If prices were actually MSRP, I’d have no problems getting the core for what it’s priced. Unfortunately I have a strong notion the core will be priced at what the top trim will be. Because yay our economy.

Im very, VERY interested to see what the first delivered models sell for at Cars and Bids or BaT. Lately a lot of vehicles have not met reserve well under what they sold for last year. So it'll be interesting to see what the buyers out there think.

Yeah - the market corrections have begun but sellers aren't catching on yet (and dealers with a low-volume car will be the last to cave).

But anyway, in a better world in which MSRP has any meaning, these are reasonable prices for what you get... even if I'd still rather have the Yaris.

Wow, the package prices are much lower than even I expected they'd be, and I was often laughed at for thinking PP would be sub $2000.

My ideal spec is $37600 then, a big delta on probably $45k minimum with markup for Civic Type R. Whew.

I hope the Canadian price is revealed soon.
We tend to have more feature equipped cars compared to the US.

Its why our Canadian spec Subaru WRX starts at like 40 grand, and the US WRX starts at like 30 or so grand.

The main reason cars are more here is because of volumes not specs. We usually run about 10% of the stock that the US get's so each unit costs more. Cars sales profits are based upon volume so less volume more cost.
