i'm aware. however, my standard commute is 3 miles a day. 15miles at most.

it stands to be the cheapest way for me to get into an ev while still having something large enough to have 4 wheels and air bags.

nissan's otherwise run on sucking the soul and will to live out of their owners, so i'm also aware of lifespan costs to owning one

We have all sorts of charging infrastructure popping up all over around here. At they rate they are appearing it will just be another year or two and that part of the argument against them will be gone.

For me, the thing that would make me consider a taller vehicle like a crossover, lifted wagon or an SUV is the advantage of eye height, of having a better view of what's around me. I often get boxed in by trucks, SUVs, minivans to the point where I can only guess what is happening beyond them. I'd like to know what's going on past the nearest vehicle. Another potential advantage to having eyes farther from the pavement is keeping them out of the glare zone of headlights. My 63-year-old eyes don't like being blinded.

These are all the reasons my wife likes the larger SUVs.

Unfortunately, I also like driving a vehicle with a manual transmission. These days, the only "taller" vehicle that I'm aware of that offers one is a Jeep Wrangler, and I'm not an off-roader.

I thought mine was cool. White with black (no chrome), big tire option with 4 wheel disc, 5 speed MT, 4x4, manual locking hubs, limited slip, and 3.2L 24 valve V6. It took us everywhere pretty much trouble free for 285k miles. One of my favorite things is it had a real steel tailgate.

I don't know where Honda Oydessys fit into the scheme of things but I went a 3 night approx 800km trip in one. (I wasn't driving.) This was in 2011 so it was far from a current model. I thought it made a lot of sense and with Honda's ability to morph the inside layout it had more than enough room for 4 of us plus luggage. I thought it a large car as opposed to a van or suv.
