Maybe I'm just an old fart (verified - I am) but I don't really see an environment with a certain "dermal durability" is an entry requirement as a bad thing.

Agreed that the C7 really was a big improvement in Corvette interiors (waay better then the C5!), and I think it'ss the best looking Corvette, to date. Was a blast to own, and I'm glad I got to try one...

The C7 is gorgeous, particularly in the right colors and is my second favorite but when I think of Corvette what always pops in my head is a GEN3 black over gray two tone with side pipes. So dang sexy....

The early C3's are gorgeous for sure. Easily my favorite classic generation.

Turned 47 in April, awaiting allocation on a manual Premium Neptune. You're only as old as you feel.

I prefer you only as old as your subconscious thinks you are. In my head, I'm 21 (my preference), in reality I'm 63, as far as I "feel" it depends on the day but it's somewhere between 21 and 105.

It's so weird being the same age as all these old people around me.

The only thing weirder is seeing that old guy with the gray beard in the mirror!

It's one of those things that's constantly difficult to maintain in your head: you get used to seeing old people all your life without any memory of them being young (since you weren't born when they were) and even when you start being older it can still be difficult to remember that the person a couple decades older than you was younger than you once. I mean we all know that's true, but it can be challenging to feel the truth in it. That 40, 50, 80, 100 year old person looks in the mirror but still, on some level, expects an 18 year old version to look back. We're like those Russian nesting dolls. There's younger and younger versions of ourselves inside frozen in time within our memory. I can be sitting in a meeting at work semi-baffled these other people are asking my opinion and treating me like an adult because part of me is still 15 years old, and then not 5 minutes later be exhausted to my very core by the youthful exuberance (ignorance) of some 20-something. |
