Not yet. It will be before I hit the track again. To be fair, GCS valve springs, rocker arm retainer kit, and fire system will go in the car first.

I play it safe... 7950revlimit.
Just past 11k on my '17. Picked up in December of that year. Might be as much as 500mi of autox... But probably half that. Also 300mi when delivered (that was a "fun" conversation)

What? Have you mentioned that in the past? That's some bullshit. What was their excuse?

Not to go on a younger generation rant, but do the early to mid 20’s guys just not bust each other’s balls anymore? I have tried joking with a couple new guys we have had for a few months and they do not take it well. They typically vape by themselves across the parking lot on break or lunch times and don’t socialize. It’s weird.

No, I didn’t get in trouble at work again.

I thought you had read my rant on the subject. All the springs that were going to break did so long before the recall was even announced. Recall was driven by the lawyers, not the engineers.

Well, I expected some as it was at another dealer and was to be driven to the one local. But it was more than it should have been. Bunch of the usual fake fees too. Did what I could (did get a bit of credit over the mileage) and had to decide whether to walk, but 2018 price going up and more wait so I cringed and went with it. Was already taking a bit of a bath replacing the old one so a drop in the bucket really. And I didn't suffer as much as the kid who crashed it so the guilt was heavy at the time.

I'm mostly beating on the car so any failure at this point just as likely mine.

I can see I'm in a fine mood already this morning too.

Frankly... That's not necessarily a bad thing. It's not universal, and not positive. If you have that kind of relationship and it works, that's fine... But older generations also may just have felt they couldn't speak up if they didn't like it.
Vaping by themselves... Suggests they've felt marginalized and now seek that out. "Joking around" may reinforce that, I don't know. Why do you feel it is important?

I struggle with "busting balls" - I'm rather literal/pedantic on word meaning, and also don't grasp where boundaries are if I try to participate. It's not fun. I don't vape though. I also get claustrophobic in crowds, so people have evidently taught me to avoid them... And I do. I don't mind being included when it's just someone opening up a circle to make room as I'm passing by, or similar.
People are complicated.

It's okay if that is not their thing, as long as they don't try to dish out what they can't handle. If they don't handle it well, they get left alone. The banter among our long time employees is pretty constant though they tend to not harass temps or new employees till they have been there a few months. I just find with the large amount of temps we have gone through this year, upwards of 20 as opposed to a normal of 3, it seems almost universal among that age group. I do think it is more to do with them not knowing where the boundaries are as you mentioned in your own experience.

I typically find a lot more camaraderie among people when we can poke fun at each other. It is what I am used to, and been used to my entire life.

I've always found banter more difficult with more senior people. Different age groups usually find different things funny. And if it's someone more senior than you at work, how do you dish it back without offending them? That's a difficult line to find if you haven't spent time with older folks (schools are only +-4 years remember).

That's why man training is so important. My grandsons are experts. They know how to be respectful and understand what is happening when a senior person initiates. Remember the barbershop scenes in Gran Torino? Perfect example.

We don't take it that far at work. Now among my close friends when we are hanging out, if you didn't know us you would think there is about to be a fight.
