Now that Novavax is approved in the US, I wonder if any of the hold outs will get vaccinated? Novavax is a more traditional vaccine and is said to be 90% effective.

My prediction is relatively few will sign up. I’m almost certain that for the refusers it is the ACT OF REFUSAL that is the point, and has little to do with WHAT is being refused.

The FDA has determined that the Novavax COVID-19 Vaccine, Adjuvanted has met the statutory criteria for issuance of an EUA.

They must have come up with enough money to get approval.

My brother tested positive for the first time this week.

California spikes are definitely happening.

I was talking to Visa about interviewing for a job there and the guy was adamant that I would have to come into the office immediately, no or little work from home. I even told him once the California COVID spikes calm down I'd be more ok with it but he didn't care, lol.

I got my second booster last night. Not sure if it makes a difference anymore.

Yeah i gonna get my second booster sometime...(it just got approved for the age group a few days ago).

But i also have the same...i guess concerns? that it'll be largely useless since Omicron Version 5 seems to be more contagious and evades the immunity a lot better than before.

My younger brother has it again, quite a bit worse this time, and being a cop/firefighter, has had every shot and booster there is.

it does appear to have diminishing returns since they're still formulated to OG strain coronoa. maybe the reformulated one will help with this but its hard to predict since this virus seems to quickly mutate and create worse and worse variants each wave.
