If anyone is curious, we both had the original strain in March 2020 and are both triple vaxed.

yeah it sucks that the vax doesn't last particularly long nor does it protect particularly well against omicron. get better soon!

We’ll, I’m in the rehab facility working on my broken hip. They have a common dining area that puts several patients at each table. We’re a group of cardiac by - pass, mild stroke and trauma/orthopedic patients and at meals it sounds like conversations among prison inmates, “ whuta you in for. “
The guy I had lunch with yesterday is a double amputee who’s acclimating to his prosthetic lower legs. Apparently, he lost both legs below the knee last summer. - to Covid.

Destroyed many many survivors' lives, and mostly ignored by the media.

Was at a small (<50) wedding a few weeks ago. About half the people there caught COVID shortly thereafter. Some had symptoms within a day or two, others like my parents and the bride/groom over a week later. Lots of other travel/activities scheduled after the wedding so idk how many actually caught it at the wedding vs afterwards. Everyone seems to be doing well, and everyone was vaccinated to my knowledge.
My wife and I tested negative and have had no symptoms, despite spending the day after with people who later tested positive. We had already gotten covid a few months ago so that might have something to do with it. |

I’m un vaxed and caught it at a music venue 2 weeks ago. I had a mild cold/flu in 1985 and this felt exactly the same.

Have had one (at the primary hospital) that was close. She seemed more interested in being pretty than doing the job though.
![]() Nice kid, really attractive, but mostly absent.

It’s hard to blame her. She’s been fawned over for her looks for decades. So you get your RN and that doesn’t stop. Put on a set of form fitting scrubs and the adventures continue.
Edit: what has really been illuminated is how great my support system is. My wife and kids are constantly looking to help. Among the Drs, nurses, and therapists I’ve met 4 or 5 are former students from my teaching days who remember me positively. All have gone out of their ways to help.
