The fun part is that all the rumors stem back to some random dude that did a render back in 2013.

So he took an FT1 concept, and tried to create a modern (well a 2013) take of a Honda Prelude?

The guy didnt even try to make it look like a Honda lol.

I don't think Honda knows how to design an attractive car anymore. 10th gen was way overdone. And the 11th gen Type R is an overcorrection. Though I do appreciate that all the vents/grilles appear to be functional.

I've also finally seen a few new Integras in person and it's...not good.

I think it looks good. I still think I would probably prefer the Accord 2.0T, but this looks pretty good. No way I was considering the last one, but if I was cross-shopping FWD sedans then I would consider this. Interior is solid.

I'm hopeful some talk on the civic forums that indicates Honda might build more of these this generation pans out, and these aren't too hard to get in a few years. I've scrapped the idea of replacing my WRX near term.. didn't think anything was ever going to compel me to do so and then wham. An amazing looking CTR mule and the GR Corolla appear. Never would have guessed, figured it would be the STI that broke me. I hope I don't regret waiting. I've been on a list for CTR since last fall that I'll probably have to dip out of, and will be stepping out from 2nd in line for GRC

I'm fairly certain the CTR will be a much nicer car to live with as a DD, maybe more pleasant to drive. I doubt I'll ever be able to test for myself, especially GRC, so it will be interesting to hear in a few months how they drive.

That's actually one of my main problems with the (modern) CTR. It's supposed to be hardcore, and not pleasant as a DD. Maybe I'm just old school, but I look at it as them being soft.

Im kind of underwhelmed with how it looks.
Looks just like a Civic SI with an ugly wing.

Ah, sure. Don't get me wrong, key here is the definition of pleasant. For example, I would define my brothers 78 911 Carrera as one of the most pleasant cars I've driven. Everything super mechanical feeling and sounding, like you are a structural member that sits between the engine and the road.

I think Honda will be leaning into the raw feel/emotional aspect since numbers won't sell it alone, outside of lap times. People eat that up these days (see: 2nd gen BRZ/86 reviews) and it's the one thing that seemed to make the FK8 stand out. Aside from the looks

This is exactly why I love it, and I would say it's because I'm getting old but really this has always been my thing. The M3 has always been my go-to example of properly spiced up. E36 through E9X especially. Enough to catch a car guys' eye but average joe would never give it a second look.

I've been seeing tons of the regular Civic on the roads and can't get enough of it, love the whole look.

It's one of the things I love the most about my C63. It looks like a damn DTM car, and sounds like it too (thanks to the exhaust mods ). There's no mistaking it for anything else. Every preceding C class AMG, and the W205 since, look far too mild IMO.

I like both the FK8 and this. They're different in their own way visually and each have (will have) massive road presence.

How old school because the glorified cars of old that have surged in prices and that are acclaimed for their clean styling and understated appearance are cars like the E46 M3 or NSX, 90’s cars? What was so radical about the looks of the 1998 CTR compared to the SI or base model? When you mean old school, do you just mean the last generation?

I think he meant how they drive and such. Like a race car inside in look and feel. But yeah, didn't sound like the Type R's were ever anything but a nice place to be. Probably a little stiff and bouncy. Noisier, feelier. When that's all done well it works out to be my ideal DD. The car I drive all the time might as well be the fun one - make time spent commuting, running errands something to look forward to.

You always hear "I love driving stick but eh, I do too much city driving/commuting so I'd rather have auto." I don't doubt someone when they say that but I've found it exact opposite. Even in bumper to bumper traffic, seems like fiddling with a stick helps pass the time and miles (or feet really, in that circumstance.) The more enjoyable the shift the better.. I hear there's nothing better than CTR. I've only shifted one around at an auto show. Felt good, I expect like most vehicles (Hondas especially it seems) it will feel a lot different while driving.
