I'm strongly considering purchasing out-of-state as well. My only concern is that I have a car to trade in that I'm still financing which has about $2000 equity. Has anyone had any experience trading in their car out-of-state? Not looking forward to making two major road trips but I'm willing to do it if I find the right trim and color. Any input would me greatly appreciated.

So what if something goes awry with the car ? Do you just take it to any local Subaru dealership for them to fix it?

Yes, your warranty is with Subaru not the dealership.

I'm in the same boat.. I'm seriously considering driving my trade-in to the out of state dealership. The only problem with that is, if they try to lowball me on the trade-in, it's a long drive home if I walk out of that deal

ITaxGuru, was the $500 credit deposit refundable? And what steps can you take to try & avoid the dealer jacking up the price once you get there? Since they KNOW you're from out of state, it's harder for you to simply walk out?

Also, is $27,400 a little too much for a MT BRZ Premium?

TIA!
The deposit was refundable. A few ways to protect yourself: a) have them PDF or phone-pic the window sticker with the settlement sheet you'd sign upon delivery, or b) have them send an e-mail with the total price, excluding tax (assuming you're buying out of state).

$27,400 does seem a bit high. In my search I found some cars to be priced higher because the rear diffuser was added ($800) or interior scotchguarding, etc. Ask for the itemized price. When I did this with 1 dealer, I learned they were marking it up $3,000 above list.
