But I do love that children in Canada learn about the US like we learned about Mexico.

Child: What's below the line?
Teacher: What line? I don't see a line... and neither do you.

TIL that a cabin air filter, for a 2019 Mazda 3, costs $50.... Is not even a washable one, is one that will need replacement in another 10-15K miles.

Also TIL, that some dealerships don't like to give out part numbers, because when I was trying to verify that my local, and only within a 50 miles radius, had the correct one, the guy immediately hung up on me after a very adamant "We don't give out part numbers".

I had to call the dealership because no parts store has one compatible with the car, and neither does K&N. Trust me I tried. I can get it on the equivalent of FTspeed for Mazda, but after shipping it ends up costing the same as the dealership.

Bang it on the ground, hit it with some compressed air. Trust me, the car will run fine.

It is exactly what Im going to do. I do have some concerns over mice/chipmunk droppings since I found a very neatly organized layer of acorns on top of the battery, underneath the engine cover on the header gaps. I might even lightly wash it, spray some Febreeze, call it a day.

I think the best solution is to spend a couple hundred on a 3d printer. Spend hundreds of hours learning to use it and draw in cad. Spend dozens of hours designing a new cabin filter holder that accepts 1.5" x 6" pieces of a furnace filter. Spend about 10 hours printing it 3 times since the heat and temperature settings are not quite right for that large of a print and you will have to recalibrate a couple times.

That will teach Mazda

While I'm at it, maybe come up with something similar to what drambeenie came up with for the rear spoiler for the BRZ.

/*-*/ its something.

BDTS61J6X according to the Googles. Amazon has one that will fit for as little as $15.
