Pitt Race

Had a great weekend with Chin Track days at pitt race. Blew through a set of front GLOC R12 pads… they stopped the car great and didn’t fade until I was basically on the backing plate. Destroyed some PSC2 tires as well.. that track absolutely eats front driver side tires! Man was it fun. I was one of the slowest cars out there but still enjoyed it. As you can see from the photos, there were some seriously fast cars out there including this Lambo Trofeo car lol. I missed the grunt from my Camaro but the GR86 held up great. For a car with a slush box, it did admirably. The manual would’ve been preferred but wasn’t available when I got the car. It was meant to be a stop-gap track car until my GT4 came in from across the pond and it really has been fun. Highly recommend the car for sure… just get a manual very easy to lift the car and do basic brake maintenance. (btw rotors are cheaper than pads!!!)

Looks like a good time and a fun lap! (minus that cadillac passing you on the inside outta no where, that seemed unsafe to me but I don't track my car)

I think he knew the Caddy was there and made room for him. I was wondering why he held so tight to the inside at the corner exit before the Cadillac came on screen.

I was there with Chin. In the blue first gen BRZ. I was chasing you down for a few laps. Great track. Great driving. Lots of faster cars, but the back portion was the great equalizer. It rewarded nimble cars and good driving.

Are Chin Track days worth the price? They're nearly double what I pay in registration alone for NASA HPDE...

Worth the price? A half hour warm up session (under yellow). At least two hours seat time (sometimes more) before 'happy hour', which is an hour open track session.

So for me, I got 3.5 hours of seat time each day for my $$$. And it depends on your priorities. I drove 500 miles to get to Pitt Race, and then Mid-Ohio. So I don't mind spending a few bucks extra to have more seat time.

I've done NASA. Don't do them now. I got disillusioned when I signed up for a DE and they had a race that same day. So we were sharing the track with racers. It made for short sessions (4 x 20 min), and if the race had any delays, or interruptions, their priorities were to make sure the racers had time to race. At the expense of the DE.

So, essentially, you get what you pay for.
