I still have about 20 8 track tapes. They would likely disintegrate the second you put them in a player though.

Lol getting my chimney swept is going to cost $600. I should probably just ask my father in law for his brushes.

Does anyone have access to a service to pull a VIN from an out of service expired tag?

I grew up with a couple of the best rock stations in the county. Both within a mile of my house.

I came to a conclusion today: Battalion Commanders are part of some sort of secret society or special Fraternity/Sorority. They are elusive and will sham out of anything. Meanwhile, the lower officers are plebs not high enough rank/time-in-service to afford shamming.

That was one of them. I still have this virgin sticker somewhere in a drawer.

Crazy times when I had silly dreams of working in radio.

That's just how middle management works.

Lets take the top 100 for 1973 as an example.
Notice the complete and total lack of anything in the top ten that can even remotely be tied to what classic ROCK stations play now. Hell, you don't get a real rock song until Smoke on the Water at #50.

i can't stand any radio stations for anymore than a day anymore. they all really only play 20 songs...

only exception is a college station that barely comes in from time to time. when i can get it, it'll go from blues to rock to rap to country. i think i've heard 1 song twice in 3 weeks.

'73 was about the last year of my top 40 AM radio phase. I eventually transitioned from WLS and WCFL coming out of Chicago to the local college FM station. That happened about the time I started having enough money to be able to afford albums and not just 45 rpm singles.

In high school some friends and I started a band. Back in those days, every high school had several bands that would compete for every dance and party. Then, all of a sudden, disco hit town. Rock bands were losing out to DJs for gigs. Punk rock/new wave eventually came along to make live performances fashionable again. Our band was reinvigorated. We gigged a lot during my college years and then we all went our separate ways upon graduation.
