You can buy the spare wheel/tire. Same one as the older 86

The last time i remember it was in a Honda Fit, i was making a turn at an intersection and then felt the car was starting to pull to one side almost right away so had to turn into a parking lot and lo and behold my tire was completely deflated and flat. I must have ran over something at or near the intersection cuz everything was fine when i got there. The spare tire allowed me to continue home until i was able to find a replacement tire. My BMW on the other hand doesnt have a spare and i did encounter some low tire pressure warnings situations. Luckily they were all slow leaks so the tire could still hold air long enough for me to get to a place to get the tire patched or replaced. If any of them got flat, i would have had to call a tow truck. The car does have a pretty deep carpeted underfloor storage area which would have no problem holding a spare tire, but im assuming it was forgone to give those cargos space ratings a bigger number. |

I've had at least one occasion in every car I've ever owned to need a spare tire, and was happy to have it when I did.

About 2 months ago I got in my old car(2018 STi) and went to work, only to quickly discover one of my rears was flat with a big screw in it. I swapped it out for the spare on the side of the road and was grateful to have one. Had a flat about a year ago as well. You've been lucky pal lol. I'll happily take the small weight penalty knowing I wont be stranded by a flat.

You can get that advantage by removing the spare yourself. The new car not coming with a spare isn't a positive "power/weight" advantage, it's a way for them to save $$$ while making the weight gain look like it's only ~50 lb. when it's really ~80 lb.
