25 years ago maybe. But its been proven over and over again that good imports from both sides of the pond can be fast. I whooped the shit out of 99 percent of the domestics around for 20 years with my 91 Mitsubishi Eclipse. It had 500 to the wheels on stock engine internals, basically stock 5spd manual and stock all wheel drive components. On REAL street tires and pump gas. It got 45mpg, passed government emissions testing EASILY and was cheap and reliable to maintain.

You had me until the "45 mpg".
I had a 91 Talon TSi AWD making around 500HP with all the same statements you made but my mileage was closer to 4.5MPG.

He probably meant 45 smiles per gallon.

I think I will start trolling them like you. I don't know why these kids can't just come to the track, they all want to big up on the streets, but scared for their cars and safety on a track when there is less at risk. I love dogfighting on a track as I like to call it.

The Japanese call it touge, @Ultramaroon calls it toe ghey.
From my experience, they don't go to the track because its expensive and they are kids... I live near a busy turnpike, every shitbox with a loud exhaust wants to race.

I'm in my 20's and get challenged frequently, but I just ignore them and drive how I feel like.

The smart way.

The more track (or even autocross) you do, the more you start realizing that the things you’re able to do on track aren’t even close to accessible safely on the public roads.

I recently left my 20s, but my mentality towards this has barely changed.

I'm early in round three of my 20's and I don't recall being challenged more than one or twice in the time I've owned the FRS. It just isn't much of a thing in these parts it seems.

Agree 100% Once I went to the track I realized I was never pushing my cars to their limit on the street. And if I did im sure alot of people wouldnt be around to tell about

You live in a tame area for sure then. Where I live is practically the inverse, not to mention the influx of supercars here now that treat the main road by me as if a drag strip.

I kid you not, I often hear rolling races happening outside my house (think beep, beep, beep sort of stuff.. 1, 2, 3, go). It’s bad enough that I’m sour towards these people now because of how they ruin car enthusiasts reputation.

Needless to say, once warm weather hits, I get “challenged” to a race daily.

Problem is we got a lot of F1 drivers on the streets now, all they had to do was watch drive to survive and they became a master of driving, able to exceed the mechanical limits of their rusted Hyundai SUV and dominate CTRs that don’t even know the Hyundai exists.

I turned up at my local for a feed after a trackday,WRX hatch. The young bar maid asked about the car because it sounded and looks loud. I told her we race it and just got back from doing so. Her honest reply was " I`m probably a lot faster than you are" She has a older little KIA and has not had a drivers license 12 months. She really is a nice girl though.

I suppose, to be fair, I don't drive a lot of streets that are compatible with street racing. Too many Southern Sheriffs on the main roads that would be compatible. A lot of the streets also have speed cameras (which are legal here in school zones).

The area that Jordan would be driving is well know for the crowd that wants to race anything and not enough police coverage to do much about it.
