Am I the only one that still wears a COVID face mask when I go out in public?

I still carry in case I happen to magically end up among a crowd of conscientious folks.

I no longer wear one. I do distance myself from crowds, and if I was going to a crowded event, I'd consider wearing one, but again 95% of what a mask does is protect others from you. If no one else is wearing one, there is very little the one you are wearing is going to help much with an airborne pathogen like COVID.

I look at it this way, it's similar to surgical masks. A surgeon masks for two reasons. The primary function is to protect the patient from germs, etc. from getting to them from the surgical staff. The other minor purpose is to protect the surgeon from blood and other body fluids. It has very little to do with protecting them from disease.

I don't anymore. Well except for the period after I recovered when the CDC recommended I wear a mask if I have to go out.

I will without complaint if it becomes recommended to do so.

DJ/DB here, too. A number of local businesses still request patrons mask up. I carry one and happily do as they ask. Also, as a bonus, there's a chance it will piss off a nearby freedumb fighter.

I look at it this way. Since COVID is contagious and is airborne, I figure the mask has some benefit for filtering out some of the virus carrying airborne particles. However, the biggest benefit to wearing a mask is that potentially infected people keep their distance from me, because, they think that I have COVID.

Plus, the mask, soaks up the drool, so it won't drip off my chin -

I fell asleep in a meeting and noticed my mask caught my drool. Win win.

I think there's also people here who think that if you're still wearing a mask it's because you're unvaccinated and being "nice" about it.

I've gotten dirty looks before from wearing one lol.
