They actually took your car in already? I have been talking to a few dealers and everyone is saying they can't really quote trade in at this time because of the lead time for the new car to arrive. Market/car condition can change within that timeframe. What dealership are you working with?

about 99% chance it will be a 2023. My guess, best case scenario you would see it in august, if it was from the first run of 23s

This is making me worry... I ordered last month here in the GTA, and I was told it would arrive sometime between 2 to 4 months. I was also told my order has not yet been accepted but it was definitely sent out.

Now I'm reading a lot of these posts about the car haulting production (Maybe) because the BRZ stopped taking orders since January.
This is not looking good for a lot of us...

I'm hoping for good news.
Contacted a friend who is a manager at Toyota and he told me they are doing all this by allocations. But I don't know what my odds are at aquiring this car in the next 2 to 3 months.

Any news in the GTA, Canada?

Unlike the BRZ Toyota does not work on a factory order system for the 86. Nobody is really sure why but it likely has something to do with the fact that Toyota buys the cars from Subaru so the system may just not be set up for factory orders. When you "order" an 86 you are actually more putting your name on a waiting list for the exact car you want to show up through the regular dealer allocation. Toyota does have a very robust dealer swap system so it is possible for your dealer to get one that is allocated to another dealer but with the high demand for these things there may simply be none open for a swap.
It is VERY optimistic to say you would receive it in 2 to 3 months and in all probability it will be closer to 4 to 6 and it will be a 23 car. The industry is struggling with severe parts shortages right now so any estimated time could be way short or far longer since they just don't know what will happen literally from one day to the next.
Leave your order in place and just be patient since there is not a single thing you or the dealer can do to speed things up!

Yea it’s a very frustrating situation.
Also dealerships are unwilling to trade cause they know it’s a hot car.

Some dealerships may but it is totally up to them and if the requesting dealer has something they really want.
I managed to snag the last MT Hakone for sale in the country through a dealer trade. Dealer in Calgary had it and my dealer here had a C-HR they needed so they made the trade. I understand the Calgary dealer was a bit reluctant but they still had an AT Hakone so they went for it.
