So funnily enough, the complex I live in has multiple Japanese families. They never have an issue. In fact, one family has a young daughter named Haru also.

We went to "Nikkei Matsuri" today at San Jose Japantown.

Haru still struggles with car rides sooo I thought, hey, there will be tons of dogs, it'll be outdoors, etc. maybe we can have a fun positive experience (lol).

It was alright for the most part but the crowd, loud noise, 20+ other shibas and all the other dogs, were a biiit overwhelming for him.

I think we still had some fun, though, and I think now he wants an R32 GTR for his birthday this Thursday:

They seem very well-behaved.

There's this one guy who got a GSD puppy at my complex probably a year or so ago and he never trained it or anything. It constantly goes nuts when it sees people or dogs on walks. Almost aggressive.

I think the guy got it as a mid life crisis/pandemic dog and didn't realize how much work it would be.

Have you tried a happy hoodie. I've been watching this dog groomer, which BTW is hilarious, and she talks about how this "happy hoodie" helps a lot of dogs by calming them down during a bath, car ride, vet visit.

Interesting. I've heard of thundershirts or whatever before but not this, might be worth trying.

Look up “The girl with the dogs” on Facebook. That’s her page. Really good stuff. We tried some of her tricks with Maya and worked out great.

Most color change is behavioral. Very little is a function of camouflage.

german shepards have got to be one of the worst pandemic dogs to get and not train. second only to huskies.

I'd say shiba inu's too.

Before I got Haru, there was a couple living in this complex who got a shiba a few months before.

I found out later on that they gave up at 6mo and returned it (or gave it to a shelter or whatever).

A lot of people get them for the "cryptocoin" bs or instagram views and don't actually learn what kind of dogs they are.
