I put it in the dyno compilation here: https://www.ft86club.com/forums/show...2&postcount=16

But here it is as well:

My bone stock 2017 BRZ (Mustang, different dyno than GR86 obviously):
178 whp
144 ft.lbs

My bone stock 2013 FRS (Mustang, same dyno as BRZ):
173 whp
141 ft.lbs

My 2017 BRZ with ACE A-350, hfc front pipe, exhaust, CSG Zack tuned on 91 made (Mustang, same dyno as stock pulls):
190 whp
152 ft.lbs

Swapped my suspension, installed ARP studs, put in the CSG C2 pads, and threw on the track wheels

That GR shift knob is so much nicer than the STI one.

I feel the same; in fact, I've had a lot of shift knobs for various cars and I think it's my favorite period tbh

It's difficult for me to understand how it's $135 worth of upgrade.

I mean, I'm also the guy who spent almost that much on an electric screwdriver because it was cool and felt awesome in the hand so I'm not saying it's not worth every penny.

I'm just saying it's a bit of a reach.

If you think $135 is a lot for that then I doubt anything I use as a justification will make any sense. I have equivalent parts on my Supra that cost 3-4x that and think nothing of it, and I apply the same logic to the GR86. Everything is relative so...

"It's a lot cheaper than the same thing for a more expensive car" doesn't really sell the idea.

My GR86 came with a shifter knob already on it. I can reach over and shift the care as it sits now.

What I don't get is:

A: What this knob does better than the stock one that makes you/others like it so much.
B: Why it would cost over $100 to make... a knob. It's a fairly inert object.

What is it about this particular knob that makes you feel it was $135 well-spent?

You're not paying for just the knob when you buy it. You're paying for the manufacturing and every time it changed hand before it got to you. Plus any overhead.

I don't think you are a good candidate for this knob. I would suggest not buying one.
