Seeing K-Mag pull off the qualifying runs he did is inspirational. What a drive. I'm looking forward to a really interesting season. I don't see Merc on the defensive for long so we could have at least a 3 way race for the title. And the mid-field is not as "mid" as it used to be. A number of those guys look strong and I wouldn't discount McLaren too much. I think they'll be back in the hunt sooner rather than later. But my big surprise is Hass. I've always liked Gunter and it's great to see those guys in Q3 (and almost as great to see Mazepin and his family gone). Gonna reup my F1TV subscription.

This will be a great season for sure. Lots of surprises. They did good with mixing things up to relieve the boredom

Pretty good race so far. Loving the battle with LEC and VER.
What a disappointment in McLaren. All the hard work from previous seasons and they seem struggling out there.

If Ham didn’t have the best luck he would have no luck at all. Crazy.

Well, that was an interesting last 3 laps...

Been a while since Ferrari had a 1-2 hasn't it?

What an amazing race. Great to see Ferrari back in podium.
Mercedes dropping the hammer with a more reliable car than Red Bull.

I think if anything he would’ve finished 4th because Max was complaining about issues with the car a little before the SF deployed.

The thing was pace wise Merc was on the back foot. To have one of your rivals dnf is huge. Gives them time to work out their issues. They don’t have to worry about minimizing losses while they work their car out now.

Loved all the different strategies and seeing more stops.

I agree. Today was all about strategy but reliability/consistency seemed to have played another part. Soon after VER DNF, Perez reported similar issues.
Did not expect RB not finishing. Horner must be absolutely fuming.

Max has his work cut out for him this year with Ferrari. Doubtful Merc will have the pace with their engines.

He would've been 5th. He's saying that both VER and PER having terminal issues was the lucky part for HAM. He's not wrong. RB definitely had much better pace throughout the weekend over Merc and PER comfortably passed HAM again in the early stages of the race after botching the start. Max was having some steering issues but was still up there with Sainz comfortably pulling away, until the terminal issue came in and he had to shut it down.

Sucks for RBR. Hopefully they get it sorted out quick. They're definitely lacking a bit in comparison on straight line speed to this year with the new fuel, like they were saying just a couple weeks ago.

It was cool to see Ferrari up front and putting up a strong fight. The back and forth between Max and Charles was awesome. Hoping to see a lot more of that throughout the season.

Awesome race, sad to see Mclaren fighting for the last places though. Would have been nice to see them in the mix.

Redbull/Honda reliability issues was devastating hope both Redbull teams can sort it by next race.

Ferrari looking mighty this year. Hope Merc can get in the mix!

That battle for 1st between Charles and Max was epic! So happy the season is underway!

I have issues with the look of those new wheels!
Did they take them off a base 1995 VW or Honda wtf?
Did the 2022 budget not factor in some bling mags for the show.

Are those pink cars really Alpine or did some old force India team really sneak in to this event?

About the race:

Great clean start.

Shumi Jr made an amazing 360 spin early on and possible dedicated his recovery to his ex-Team mate that got excommunicated.

Haas & Alfa carried their earlier weekend success into the race.

Great clean racing from Charles & Max. Zo challenged HAM on his first race and not make any rookie blunders trying to impress.

Tires still a factor when coming out of the pits, can see this becoming a decisive event over the season.

Teams that really missed out on this first event McL, AM will need to assess their data before the can do a comeback.
Next race is next week not much time for the teams to work out their weaknesses…
Hulk will not resist giving the car back to Vettel I presume and hope they don’t call him back for more too soon.

Unlucky RB very lucky MERC.

Im tempted to put a prancing horse sticker or two on the RED ONE.
I had lost all faith in Ferrari in the past 10 years.

Some Shuffling of constructors WC from 2022/2021 to contemplate but the season has just begun.
