Welp, 1st practice is on and already a driver with issues, Bottas, reports of mis-firing.
8 Minutes in... Red Flag. Ocon. Here we go.

Looks like P2 was quali simulations. Max on top, Leclerc P2 .082 off. Hamilton way down the order but on Meds and with a malfunctioning DRS.

Maybe Hamilton and Merc were not sandbagging at all.

Hard to say without knowing for sure if everyone has done race pace simulation. Poor quali pace isn’t going to help them out.

Correct. There were also reports of a bad DRS and front brakes so there's still some ground to cover from HAM. He was also running Mediums.

Lot of hydraulic issues for a few teams over the weekend up to now, and the track looks quite bumpy especially when they focus close to those Mercs.
The RED cars have done good and steady - wow. Who would have thought Alfa & Haas to be in the mix over McL. This will be a good show tomorrow, do keep some pop corn for the race! The first 10 now have a tire choice this year I think as per new rules, any other tweaks on the rules? |

Official Formula 1 thread
Welp. Aside from the pretty obvious pole for Ferrari/RB. K.Mag completely shut me off for my earlier comments because I’m seeing a HAAS in the top 10.
Tomorrow will depend on team strategy. This year might be crazier than last. Kind of disappointed in McLaren. Was hoping for a closer battle with the top teams. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

All the new aero stuff looks great, not sure about the 18inch wheels.. I used to like the 13inch with the fat side walls..

Max needs a good start tomorrow. If he happens to jump Sainz at the start and is battling Leclerc I could imagine we see some aggressive moves. What are the odds Charles bins it? Spin to win is not the game he's playing and it seems like he forgets it sometimes. Also cool to see Sainz step it up as Charles always seemed to have the measure of him in one lap pace. KMag starting that far up can be pretty spicy as well, he's not afraid to throw elbows. Merc's car looks terribly unstable.

Oh man, oh man ohmanohmanohman... Having not actually watched all the tests, I really like how the cars look. And I think we are going to have a real interesting season based on qualy. So excite.
