"The strongest risk factors for death were obesity"

"Anxiety and fear-related disorders were a prevalent condition in our sample; they were also the second highest risk factor for death among the underlying conditions considered in our study"

I know, lets shut down all gyms, make everyone more obese, and then constantly talk about how deadly, dangerous, and out of control covid is to cause more anxiety and fear.

The brain is an extremely powerful organ. Fear is a horrible thing and was used as a tool for control. Hopefully they now have enough data on human behavior/reaction to let this thing die.

There's no more fear. Just do your own thing and move on. Lol you guys love talking about that shit so much.

Can we let this thing die? Interesting question considering that by the end of March it will probably have killed over 1,000,000 (one million) Americans. A lot of people are ready to declare victory and have a cigar. They may be surprised as they have countless times before when they've done the same thing only to wind up missing a portion of their asses. Human brains are quite interesting. The smooth ones are less so.

My campus is rescinding the mask mandate the Friday before spring break.

I guess there’s few differences, time mainly. However, we thought that before. In June 2021, we thought vaccination rates were sufficient enough. Delta. December 2021, Delta began to subside. Omicron. That’s subsiding after highest transmission rates.

What’s next?

I doubt that removing the muzzles will cause another variant to emerge

DoD rescinded mask mandates Post-wide. The exception being medical (which makes sense).

I think Ontario mask mandate ends on the 21st of this month iirc. Chef medical officer reminded everyone that there are some people that should continue masking and that we should respect their needs. He also pointed out that he will always keep a mask on him to use if in a crowded place or where he feels it appropriate.

For the first time since late February 2020 our ICUs here (4 hospitals) have zero COVID patients.

I doubt most people in the US will put up with another one. Red states, no. Blue states, fewer will conform than before.

Yeah Putin really put the last nail in communism I think but I guess that's political talk so I'll digress.
