What is the new one?

Don't have the model number with me but I believe it is this one. We did get some discount off the priice.

It is an LG french door, with two freezer drawers, two ice makers and the left glass/open only part of the door thing.

You really have to have the two icemakers because the upper ice maker is not huge, but it does fit in the door so it doesn't take up refrigerator space.

Of course, we had to buy what they had in stock (which cost me about $500 in features) and MomHawk went with me (which cost me another $500 in features).

I miss the day when to buy a refrigerator, all you had to do was pick the size, top/bottom or side-by-side, and the manufacturer.

I did find it amusing that Samsung now warrants their ice maker for twice the warranty period of the refrigerator. Yea, no thanks Samsung you had your chance.

Once you get above a certain price point they all are pretty much "smart" now, although some are more smart than others.

They are only as "smart" as you let them be.

That's true. Our range is "smart" except I turned off the WIFI. Now it just does what we ask.

No.
It's the green orb from the original Heavy Metal movie.

I would love to know how well the craft ice maker works. I have had my eye on LG's just for that feature.
