Curious if you can ever tell you upgraded... I know I'm still gpu limited (6800xt) or single thread limited, but hnnnng... I must be depressed, keep wanting to buy stuff with no good reason.

From a games aspect, I wasn't able to see any much difference. Then again, I haven't fine tuned the CPU. For some reason the target speed on the BIOS is set to 3.6GHz, which is odd since it can go up to 5. So I have some more tweaking to do. Even with the settings I have right now, I was able to keep 165+ FPS on Warzone constantly on Ultra settings with DLSS on Performance. Actually, you would be a prime candidate to upgrade since AMD pairs great with anything equivalent to a 3080FE. Booting time is the about the same, games loaded as fast as always, but is also because of the 980 Pro M.2. I'll probably sit down this weekend and fine tune the CPU. Edit: I think I might have found the solution, I haven't installed the latest chipset driver from AMD.

I played F1 2021 for about 3 hours yesterday and completely ignored the FPS counter because I was sweating so much trying to complete "Driven to Glory". Even at Challenging difficulty with only ABS assist on, game is pretty intense. Getting the timings correctly on when to go full throttle is the biggest thing.

GT7 looks amazing! The feel on the haptic controller is awesome. You can certainly scrape the paint and the scraped paint looks hyper-realistic too, but I don't think there is full damage modeling. Still this game is amazing just for the feel of the drive and the eye candy alone. I've only played the music rally mini games as I'm still downloading.

Same. I still need to build a PC now that I will have the space so not enough budget for that.

Started playing some Ground Branch, and for being a work in progress, is pretty awesome. It's also pretty tense and lacks any remorse if you mess up. The customization of characters and weapons is also really nice and most things make logical sense. I modeled mine after Flannel Daddy himself, Garand Thumb.

you won't see a difference in any games. I have a 3900x 3080 system and 5900x and 6900xt system and there is no perceptible difference. Shoot, even the 2060 super and 1600AF in my living room offer a fantastic experience and I'm hard pressed to tell the difference unless it's 4k or incredibly demanding games.
