Otherwise, car turns in so much better on just a quick back road drive, I'm happy so far.

Some before and after, also a Viper.
Have you done the upper/lower crash bolts yet?

It's only been a few days. Letting them settle fully then back for a proper alignment. Definitely stiffer but the ride quality is more than acceptable for me. Not crashy or bouncy. Ive read Spec Rs can be rough on stock shocks. Not experiencing that. Feel more of the road. Less body roll, squat and dive is immediately apparent. Hit a few pot holes and expansion joints, obviously not as nice as stock but worth the ride height and less "floaty" feeling. Former modified cars include S2K AP2 Koni/Swift and FRS Lca/tein flex z/RPF1 17x9. Also think the steering weight may have increased but I'll report back. TWS T66-F 18x8 and HKS Spec L II should be on the car as well as Raceseng camber plates by then also.

That’s a very nice knob! A cool sleek look.
Well done.

Very cool, but does the increased mass of the shift knob affect the 'feel' of the shifting action. Some years ago I installed a shift knob a friend fabricated for me. I even gold plated it since I had access to plating equipment at the time. It looked like top shelf. However, the inertia of the knob on the shift lever and the weight of the knob actually shifted out of third gear during hard braking. Not entirely the fault of the knob as the hub and synchros in the transmission were well worn at that point. Anyway, I had to go back to my tried and true custom turned wood knob to be able to put off work on the transmission. The extra weight of the metal knob caused me to miss shifts and again some of that likely due to worn linkage.

^^I’ve had weighted knobs in all of my cars since’05 and never had an issue like that. Loved my Latheworks and Blox knobs I used in my WRX. Switched it up this time and have a Likewise Thicc Boi on the way.

Some shift knobs weight more than others. It's a personal preference for the most part. If you look long enough you can find ones that weigh in between the super heavy ones and the lighter stock ones. I found that the OEM ND Miata shift knob has a good balance between them. I had blox knob on a previous car and it weighed probably double what the ND Miata knob is.

I did a brake fluid swap - OEM to Motul 600, I'm planning on doing some beginner track days, also have Ferodo DS2500 on the way. One thing I want to share with folks, if you're using the Motive Power Bleeder be very aware of how you put the cap on the reservoir. I was extremely careful but still ended up slightly damaging one of the flanges on the reservoir. I have the plastic cap version so I don't know if the metal cap version works better but I just wanted to post my experience with this product. I don't believe it did enough damage to cause any issues but I'm pretty disappointed. I won't be using it again.

What do you mean by flanges on the reservoir? I'm not sure what you are explaining? Please clarify if possible, as I always use the Motive bleeder on my cars, and don't want to damage anything when it comes time to do the fluid change.

By the way, another hint with that bleeder: Change the hoses if they are old!! (> 6 or 7 years old, mine were about 10)
I just did a fluid change on a friend's car, and even though I physically inspected the hoses, and also did a dry run, and pumped it up without fluid in the tank to test it, it sprung a leak after I filled it with fluid and pumped it up!! It was a little bit of a disaster, but thank god I was careful, and put down thick blankets protecting the car, and the frunk (front trunk on mid engine car). I was able to release the pressure, and get everything away from the car, without getting a drop on the car. It was a very scary experience that could have been avoided if I replaced the hoses sooner.
The worst part.... I literally said this as we were getting started:
"I think my hoses are getting a little old, I am going to order new ones before I have a problem" Well, I'm really glad that I got VERY lucky this time. It could have been REALLY bad. I think I will change them every 5 or 6 years from now on.

not really sure how to describe what a flange is - a protruding lip or rim used to fasten two objects?..in this case the brake fluid reservoir and the cap.

I have had a WC Lathewerks stainless steel shift knob in my Focus ST for about 4 years, also one in my previously owned Miata ND, and now in my BRZ.

I love the feel of a heavy weighted shift knob, and have never had any issues arising from using a heavier knob.
