An update to my comment re: time for protesters to go home. The feds declared a state of emergency for the first time ever, and police from York Region, where I live as well as other regional municipalities were dispatched to Ottawa. After 2 days clear and explicit orders to pick up and go home or be arrested, etc., remaining vehicles were taken, around 200 arrests were made with around 400 charges and everything is cleaned up.
They can debate whether the state of emergency was appropriate after the fact but they did end an unwelcome occupation of Canada's capital city. Residents are jubilant, they won't need to endure blaring horns and kids living in the trucks with the protesters. There were protesters seen congregating unmasked in an Ottawa hotel lobby this morning. Laughably all vaccine passports are dropped March 1 in Ontario. Masking, on the other hand possibly not.
I have a Magnum PI moustache and my normal trimmed goatee under my mask, not sure if the stache will survive if masks dont, it's 35 years out of date.

I think people are less worried about COVID and masks and more so about their statement with the protest. This exact thing happened with the BLM marches/gatherings/protests in Austin. Which is very pro-mask (and also very NOT depending where you are). So the old saying goes, emotions play a role in how something is done. BLM>COVID. Not trying to get too political, just pointing it out. Even then, the people wearing their masks are screaming or at least exerting themselves, which does not do much with the rinky dink masks everyone was using or the cloth ones, too.
