oohhh i'd like the option of 8" mufflers as well. i don't have headers yet, but in the mean time I'd prefer it be too quiet than too loud.

We're also getting our plate cleaned off a bit more and have had some specific modification requests to our existing designs for the AxleBack so I'm working on gathering some data for some options on those (high temp powdercoated blacked out axleback, muffled or helmholtz resonated track axleback and a quieter 'gentleman's axleback'). John has been thinking up some interesting ideas for headers and I drove the car again yesterday (yay, we're up to 692mi on our FRS!). So we're ramping back up to attack the development again on the 86 platform.

We also have our next order of chassis brace mounting lugs coming off the CNC lathe tomorrow so we will be able to tear into the front and rear strut bar and fender brace designs very soon. And our rally team finally went home to Melbourne (until they return to run mad as a cut snake at Olympus in September).

Also thinking about doing a discounted group buy for the Axleback. Is this something you think people would bite on? The alternative is to do free shipping or discount powdercoat or discount option set of some sort (see above concepts) on the AxleBack. We'd like to get our process sped up a bit and running a few larger quantities always helps us to dial in our processes. It's good value for us, and would help us to get some more traction here on the forum. Thoughts?

Jason
I was looking at the engine bay thinking about and strut bar and wondering would a traditional strut bar design paired with our strut Tower braces (I am sure that's not what they are called) work well? In my head having a triangular set up would be beneficial. What do you think? And if it is what are the odds of ya' ll doing it?

Jason, I'd love to hear a muffled single exit track pipe if you guys wanna fab one up or someone orders one and you have time to throw a video together.

Seconded. You're about to be the victim of your own successes; I want Nameless axleback, but I don't want it to be loud when I upgrade in the future to more of your parts. That means I might have to wait on the axleback...unless a GB pushed me over the edge and held me over until a full exhaust solution from you guys was in place.

Group buy might push me over the ordering edge. Ha.

I've been holding off also partly because I want a full exhaust and I don't want it to be obnoxiously loud but I really need something louder than stock.

I'm in it for the catless. Until someone makes a light single exit exhaust I'll rock my over pipe and header

I wouldn't mind a single exit axleback which looks and sounds decent, so I don't have to swap the track pipe on and off for autocross events.

Ok all of these things are in the works. Tomorrow we are going to test an offset muffler arrangement back to back with a center-center design (our current setup). We run the offset on the STi hatch already and it seems to work well. Also building a 4" muffled version.

I just got the frequency data to work on helmholtz muffler delete single exit. We are also doing a dual exit muffler delete for frequency testing and then testing a dual helmholtz in that. Finally we will be taking the quietest of the two muffler setups and testing helmholtz systems on top of that. We will get some options for everyone out of this run of development. Helps that our standard muffler caps are a few days late right now. Gives us at least a day to play.

Header dev will be back on line shortly thereafter. We have had a ton of requests for a full race port-back exhaust (you're gonna love this dimmen) and we plan on taking a crack at a lightweight full v-band port-back system with long tube header and x pipe. Potentially full dual.

Our strut bar will be a full cage style and hit at least six mount points, half notched and welded. Lincoln log style.

I'll also entertain an aluminum exhaust if we can agree that it is a consumable object. Can't very well anodize a whole exhaust. Considering some badass bonding options that will remove heat effected metal fatigue failures. Did a ton of homework on this with the gnarly 7075 skidplates and bonding options.

Heh I'm in for the aluminum consumable option. Well how consumable are we talking about?

Too many choices.

I just want more power, more sound and to pass emissions.
