If it's not street legal, you are going to also need to buy a car hauler and trailer to actually use it?

Routine open-engine maintenance?

From the vendor:
Pros
Runs and drives
Roll cage
No rust
Weber intake and carburetor
22 gallon fuel tank from Fuel Safe
HID lightbar
Full fire suppression system
Internal and external kill switches
Radio with helmet cable
Coilovers and stainless steel brake lines
600 miles since motor's last rebuild with no track time yet

Cons
No headlights or turn signals (only brake, reverse, and the lightbar)
No power steering
New Corbeau seat needs to be adjusted for proper clearance from cage
Exhaust needs to be re-sealed
Oil cooler has a slow leak (new CX Racing cooler included)
No harness (Corbeau harness included)
No rear or door glass (Someone smashed my dads 85 so I replaced the glass for him)
All the stuff it comes with, it's not a bad deal... but I still wouldn't buy it

My 84 Civic S didn't have power steering either.
Gosh, it's like we're atrophying or the mfgs are building lead sleds for some reason.

Don't think Id spend a lot of money on one now if I can't use it anywhere but the back yard.

But but buuuut, guuuuuyss, is an RX-7 !! . I know, I know, a lot of things to consider, is not an FC which I would prefer, or even an FD. Is just one of those cars that I consider is a must have/drive at least at some point on my life.

I have always like rotories, I'd just never want to own one. Carburetor and I am assuming a 12A, no thanks. It would be a prime candidate for a k swap though

If I was to get it, at least I could say that I owned a Rotary. Whether If I actually drove it and enjoyed would be up to speculation.

$30 and probably produces just as much torque.

You have bought into an automotive myth and it seems that you will regret if you don't buy it but will also regret it once you have.

Those rotary engines were a pain in the ass when they were new much less 40 years later.

When you first see an RX7 at a track day you are always like , "cool an RX7."

After about the 3rd time you see an RX7 at a track day you are like, "great, what session is he in that is about to get flagged for a breakdown." I think I have seen a grand total of 1 that has made it through a whole day without issue. It was an all stock GSL and he didn't drive it hard.

If you have the means and really intend to track it, I agree with ichi. Could do way worse.

A couple of guys from my old DSM group picked them up back in the mid 90s when they were dirt cheap. I don't remember what years or versions they were but they spent more time changing seals than they ever did driving the bloody things.
