Best dashcam?
There's long list of possibles I find online. Some are so cheap it's hard to imagine they're any good. I want one hard wired that sees front and rear. Can anyone advise?

I've had my Rexing v1 for years and love it. Stick with flush mounting dashcams where the dashcam itself is mounted, rather than a mount you attach the dashcam to. After a while, those types of mounts tend to get loose and the dashcam will jiggle and make videos hard to view.
Also I hardwired for a while. Just be careful if you're planning on having motion detection cause you'll drain your battery pretty quickly. |

I'm a fan of Thinkware. Granted it's all I've ever used, but I've never had any complaints. I had their F770 for several years, and upgrade to their U1000 last year. Here's a clip from my U1000:

If you're not planning on using a parking mode, why not just use the 12v outlet behind the glove box? That's what I did before switching to a 2-channel system with parking mode.
Also, what are you looking for in a dash cam? Such as low light/night performance, resolution type, FPS, etc. I will say no matter what cam you get, don't get a battery based camera, but rather a capacitor kind. |
