It is really the whole idea behind an actual "collector" car. Keep as much as humanly possible original. The thing is that whoever ends up with that truck will never ever actually drive it so even the 44 year old rubber in the tires will be just fine. Even true collectors cars with paint that can't be saved and look like crap will be kept that way as they have a higher value.
I would suck as a collector since I would want to drive the bloody thing.
