Color is such a perception thing that I'm not sure how you can tell.

In college (I was a Philosophy major) I wrote a final paper on the perception of color.

For example, what you and I agree to as "red" is because it consistently looks the same to us individually and we've associated that word with it. However, if you could see it through my eyes, and I yours, we might think it was blue or green because we see it differently. It is only the relationship of everyone pointing at it and going "that's red" that makes it red.

That could explain why people like different colors. For example you might like green and I may like blue, but what we both really like on the color spectrum is orange, it's just we see it differently.

It also isn't. It can be measured.
I was a fine art major so spent sooooo much time on color. It's wild how varied responses and perception are, and how that changes things. It also turns out my sense of color isn't missing anything I've been able to find. makes for the occasional interesting conversation with my wife...

True, but your visualization of that color you "see" may not match the measured color on the spectrum. Science obviously has progressed since the early 80's but I'm not sure that it has become possible to "see" what someone else sees.
