![]() It's a great reference for all kinds of stuff. Not exactly the Ryerson book but close.

I get one every couple of years and don't think I have ordered a thing since about 2012. I do use it as a reference on a regular basis though

McMaster-Carr sounds like an Irish Kung Fu master.

The laziness of my predecessor in purchasing is mind numbing. The amount of stuff I have to fix to make this job easier is ridiculous. He only ordered off the shortage report so we had to have dummy orders to flag items to order and it only flags items we are short on. The shortage report is usually 200 pages at 13 lines and shows items even if it is already on order and covers allocations. If he maintained order points you can use a much more useful report that would show on hand less allocation plus on order and doesn't show what is covered on order. I have like 8000 sku's to correct order points on. Then we can do away with the dummy allocation orders and only have to maintain order points as things change through the year. I hope the next purchasing guy can appreciate this. I would rather see a new oil change interval post a day with someone citing a youtube mechanic

If you Google, I'm sure someone has posted a copy of a script that someone else posted which would automate the data entry if it actually worked.
