I wonder what low density MOS that belongs to. Usually the biggest bonuses go to MOS that don't see a lot of promotions, at least that's how it was explained to me at my old unit.

Yeah I remember hearing that, too. Though back in '08 filling the infantry and ranger slots granted massive bonuses. Now days that's unheard of. I am curious what that bonus is attached to. I'd imagine 88M drivers or something shitty like CBRN. Neither of which would appeal to me unless the bonus was 100k.

I waited a year for the navy because it was the only branch that guaranteed to train the enlistee in his chosen vocation. I felt super bad for the dropouts.

i'm too old anymore.

but in hindsight, i absolutely should have done it coming out of high school.. would've set me up for a nice retirement pension later in life

I wanted too, buy my dad talked me out of it. He was in 13 years. Unfortunately he talked me into college which I never finished. Wish I would have known more about vocational schools or some of the 2 year programs at the local community college I went to.

my cousin got me all the way to the marine recruiting office. the girlfriend at the time talked me out of it.

going into the marines would've been a mistake, but being support staff in the army would've worked plenty fine for me...

starting to seriously look into sheds. tired of staring down the yard appliances in the garage. really need a new garage, but i already know the feature creep of building a new garage, would end up with a new mortgage. need to find a wealthy girl that gets bored with her money, or win the lottery.


wow, storage is expensive. most 8x10's of decent quality start at $4k...


found a dirt cheap steel shed with no floor for $400. and then it'll be another $400 in treated lumber to build a mobile platform of a floor... i guess $800 is a heck of a lot cheaper than $100k...
