My dad came to visit yesterday and I showed him my racing simulator setup on Assetto Corsa. Nothing brought me more joy than watching my 65yo dad ripping thru Monza on a Lamborghini Aventador. He struggled the first few laps but got the hang of it quite quick. I would be sitting on the living room talking to my mom while I could only hear my Dad ripping thru gears on the long straights.

Downloaded Project Cars 2 to my Xbox since I wanted a little more variety. Couldn't figure out why the game felt like shit and my times were so slow. Then I finally noticed 100% on TC is off and 1% is full nannies mode lol.

That'll probably be my next game, A.C can be fun, but does require a lot of mods, and during testing with even the SOL mod, the game tends to lag a bit. So I'm just going to download car mods and tracks. The sound mixing could use some tweaking too. Aside from how fun the 86 is on the track, Ayrton Senna's F1 Lotus is a joy to drive, same thing with Nikki Lauda's Ferrari from the 80s.

The physics in PC2 leave a bit to be desired. The cars feel very loose. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Well that's a shame. I wonder PC 3 is any better. I've been looking at iRacing too but paying a monthly subscription for a game that even if its very well known, looks a bit lacking graphics wise. If Gran Turismo would be ported to PC I would jump on that right away.

We do rFactor2 events weekly, and will be dabbling with assetto Corsa competizione soon. Some paid tracks but nothing like the cost of entry for iRacing. And no ongoing fees. ACC is pretty dang good. RF2 is good enough.

Ok, I know you all have discussed your driving sim setups before, but now I'm actually paying attention lol. What does everyone use hardware-wise? Controller, wheel on desk, sim rig, etc?
Seriously considering building a sim rig and a new gaming PC once GPUs are available again. Hopefully soon. |

The ones that come with the Logitech, they are meh. Serviceable but not great. I heard the Thrustmaster TH300 with pedals is a better option.
I have also noticed the G920 has gotten a bit sloppy on center but it has endured about 3 years of use.
