Shift knob thread pitch
Does anyone know what the shift knob thread pitch is on the new gen of twins? Is it the same as the previous?

Yes *but* the reverse lockout hole is enlarged and not all shift knobs will work. I believe it's now the same as the GR Yaris.

Threading is 12x1.25, is it kind of just a lottery in terms of what works and what doesn't or are there things I can look out for? |

I would recommend waiting for the manufacturers to play catch-up and publish compatibilities with this car. Many will need new product releases to make them compatible. My Tomei SS knob sadly doesnt work. |

So I've read a few places including this thread that the new knob and old aren't interchangeable due to the reverse lockout. On my old Celica I had an FR-S knob, I'm considering getting a BRZ knob for my current Celica.
I'm guessing that since I don't have to worry about a reverse lockout, that the 2nd gen knobs will work as well as the 1st gen? I think I had to have a nut on my shift rod on my previous Celica so that it would bottom out instead of popping the cap off, but that's the only thing I remember. I realize this isn't a Celica site...guess I'm just wondering if the reverse lockout is the only change from previous gen?

I'd love to know this as well - it looks great! Would compliment the red handbrake button i've got.
