Shift knob thread pitch

Does anyone know what the shift knob thread pitch is on the new gen of twins? Is it the same as the previous?

Yes *but* the reverse lockout hole is enlarged and not all shift knobs will work. I believe it's now the same as the GR Yaris.

How would I search for an appropriate shift knob?

Threading is 12x1.25, is it kind of just a lottery in terms of what works and what doesn't or are there things I can look out for?

I would recommend waiting for the manufacturers to play catch-up and publish compatibilities with this car. Many will need new product releases to make them compatible. My Tomei SS knob sadly doesn’t work.

It does look nice. Subtle flair.

So I've read a few places including this thread that the new knob and old aren't interchangeable due to the reverse lockout. On my old Celica I had an FR-S knob, I'm considering getting a BRZ knob for my current Celica.

I'm guessing that since I don't have to worry about a reverse lockout, that the 2nd gen knobs will work as well as the 1st gen?

I think I had to have a nut on my shift rod on my previous Celica so that it would bottom out instead of popping the cap off, but that's the only thing I remember.

I realize this isn't a Celica site...guess I'm just wondering if the reverse lockout is the only change from previous gen?

I'd love to know this as well - it looks great! Would compliment the red handbrake button i've got.
