OH I understand that and usually let it ride but this one was just so grating. Half the time I probably don't make much more sense with my lazy typing and lack of proofreading resulting in partial or incorrect words (or even sentences).

Part of that is there is no longer any incentive for loyalty. 401ks are portable, you make more money as a new hire than you would in raises/promotions, and middle management is full of idiots and yes men/women/non-binaries.

Example: I stuck it out for 7 years at my first job only to be assigned to shit projects I didn't want to do, got passed from manager to manager so none of them really understood what I did or what my career goals were, and was getting paid way less than everyone else of my experience (You learn a lot doing all the shit nobody else wants to deal with). I was doing work 1-2 levels above my position but kept not getting promoted. Probably would still be there if it weren't for a chance encounter at the first conference I ever got to go to lol. Got an offer to do work I actually wanted to do with people I wanted to work with for way more money.

Tldr, tried it one way, it sucked. The other way is much better, and corporate assholes can take a ride on a sandpaper dildo.

So, what you are saying is that in the context of the sentence using "staffs" is poor fitment.

So, you had to put your finger in a bowl of water?

Something like that.

I had to go to a company that specialized in pre-employment lie detection testing. It was "required" because the company I worked for sold stuff to places like the NSA and the CI, or at least that was their excuse (it wasn't for a security clearance).

Kinda happens when you tell a generation they HAVE to go to college to make good money. Then they step into a job at the entry level with entry level pay when they expect to get short cutted to the top.

What gets me is all the companies that say that you have to have a degree for a position like sales. It can be a degree in anything, but you have to have one.

I can tell you that there are lots of folks (from all generations) that feel they deserve this shortcut, degree or not. They have some single qualifying factor that should make them eligible for top level pay.

By the same token, there are folks that understand how pay works, and just do their jobs. There are really more of these, they are just quiet about it.

I make them for her sometimes, they are simple. She is only like 90 lbs, she had two at the airport once, we about had to carry her to the plane.
