If I understand correctly, front is strut clearance challenged and rear is fender.

According to the comments on https://www.instagram.com/p/CX4SM5Jv4zI/, the front fender is also more challenging than the one 1st gen cars had. But not as much as the rear.

I have rubbing, albeit minor, at full compression at the rear with -2.3 camber. Again, 18x8.5 et44 245/35r18

Edit: at stock height, you may be ok.
Do you have a photo of the car at it's current ride height with your wheel setup?

Crazy how conservative the fitment setups have to be with the second gens, first gens seemed to fit wider and lower offset wheels with a lot less drama. I don't have the car yet, but I've been eying 57dr's and thought it would be possible to fit the 18x9.5's, now I'm looking at 18x8.5 et37 and that may still be too aggressive lol.

That being said, you can certainly "win" a few millimeters by adding camber. Just don't consider it a solution to all low-offset wheels. It might be just enough for et45, but we're still gathering data to be sure.
Thanks! Appreciate the info. I just wish this was easy

Anyone with aftermarket wheels on their Gen 2 skip installation of TPM sensors? If so, any issues other than a TPMS light on the dash? I usually don't bother with TPM sensors for auto-x/track wheels and just wanted to make sure the Gen 2 cars wouldn't cause that to be a hassle with turning off traction control and keeping it off.

The good news is that the gen 2 cars can be programmed to work with two different sets of sensors, so that you can put one set in your track/autox wheels and keep the other in you street wheels.
I can imagine the real-time pressure monitoring being quite handy at track days. Although would be cautious that the readings of those sensors can be slightly off the real pressure.

That being said, if you want to keep any of your sets of wheels without TPMS sensors, I don't anticipate any issues other than the warning light.

No issues at all.

Just got my wheels and suspension on the car. Went with RaceComp Engineering Tarmac II coils and Works Motorsports top hats. The wheels are 17x9 et42 Apex EC-7R in Anthracite wrapped in 245/40 tires.

We went with a 1.5" drop front and rear which caused us to pick up -2.5 camber in the rear, so we chose to match it with the front to have a good balance. Its a street car and my original goal was run -2 on all four corners but we had issues with the RLCAs and ended up not being able to use them. That meant I was stuck with the -2.5 that the stock rlca provided but after it was all done I really like the look of it.

Clearance in the front is great, I dont have the stock spring perches anymore so there were no clearance issues on the inside of the barrel, and the outside of the wheel clears just fine. I think it would honestly look even better with a 7-10mm spacer just to match the rear more closely.

Clearance in the rear is surprisingly good too. Even at 1.5" of drop there is no danger of rubbing on the trim piece or fender liner. I think we could have easily gotten away with the -2 camber I originally intended and still not had any issues. I have put about 300 miles on the car since the change and gone pretty hard through corners and over a few larger bumps and experienced zero rubbing.

This is great information, thanks for posting.

I’m surprised there are no clearance issues or rubbing. Do you think it’s because your tires are narrow for a 245? Previous posts with the same wheels and 245 tires had some issues with hitting the fender liner in the rear.

I’m considering pulling the trigger on some TWS 18x8.5 +42 and was worried that would be too aggressive… but perhaps not? Hmm

Picked the car up from the dealership last night. Immediately swapped the stock wheels/tires to a set of RPF1s 18x8 +35, with winter tires in 225/40r/18. I am thrilled with how it turned out. Zero rubbing, and plenty of clearance to the front strut tower. I plan to lower the car modestly, eventually. Cheers!

That's news to me! Can you share more details?
(Nervously looking at the RLCAs I already purchased)

Absolutely beautiful, makes me wish I knew/understand tires/wheels/suspension way better than I do now, other than googling a size comparison tool for tires LOL.

Only thing I worry about with dropping the height on my current car or my future BRZ would be ride comfort with my bad back and all. Health > everything else.

The issue was a quality issue with the LCA, not the car or fitment. The adjustment bolts and offset washers were much too soft and basically just rounded out instead of actually adjusting the camber. We had them sitting on the shelf so we grabbed them, but I'm going to pick something much nicer when the need arises.

Ah, I see. Which LCA was that?
