No spacers with the coilovers and pretty sure it was the wheel hitting, RS4 are not that much wide compared to other 200tw.

What size tire? 245/40/17 on 17x9 +38 only cleared by about 5-6mm on my first gen with stock struts.

FFS man remove the irrelevant pictures when quoting a post like that.

The tires were 225s but the closest point was actually the inside of the rim to the spring perch.

I’m really disappointed that the 18x8.5 et44 w/ 245-35-18s didn’t work. That’s by no means an “aggressive” fitment, and you’re not even using 200TW (read: wide) tires.

Are you sure your rear camber is -2*? If so, this is actually a huge regression from the gen 1 cars.

Can someone kindly confirm whether something like RPF1 ET45 17x9s running 245/40 will have any issues with STOCK suspension?

I've read through the thread twice now, it appears all the issues were with lowered setups? I couldn't see any examples of stock suspension. Apologies if im wrong or missed something. This is my first BRZ (loving it btw!)

You will need spacers in the front to clear the strut perch which also mean extended studs.

Depending on the exact tire, it might rub slightly or be fine.

It doesn't really matter if the car is lowered or not, what matters is the geometry, which is defined by the control arms. If the arms are stock, the car with soft OEM springs can still experience a situation when there's enough weight on one of the rear corners to compress the suspension and bring the tire close to the fender liner.

Another factor is how much free travel does the damper have in the compression direction. Some aftermarket suspension can probably be adjusted in such a way that the tire won't rub even if it pokes a lot; whereas with the stock suspension you have what you have.

Ah sorry I thought the issue was with clearing the strut, not the fender.

So am I correct in saying that if I do have issues with it clearing the fender during compression that I could get an aftermarket LCA and add a little more -camber to make it clear?

Keep in mind that when changing rear camber by adjusting the length RLCA, the wheel pivots around the top joint of the hub. So even with a lot of camber, the top of the tire won't move as much as e.g. when changing the front camber by the same amount.

That being said, you can certainly "win" a few millimeters by adding camber. Just don't consider it a solution to all low-offset wheels. It might be just enough for et45, but we're still gathering data to be sure.
