I find the FRS/BRZ Wars amusing! I initially wanted a BRZ, but examining the fascia along with the fog lamps, turned out to be a little too reminiscent of my beloved '98 240SX. I'm pleased with the FRS. May we drive great sagas together!

What? You think we were going to let you roll in a Hyundai?

Go figure that I'm reading the ft86 front page article comparison on fr-s vs veloster and find these paragraphs ideally suited for describing the suspension shortcomings of the Genesis as well:

Quote:
The harder you drive it, the more the Veloster Turbo frustrates. Its modest ultimate grip of 0.83g is not the issue. It's the way it composes itself on imperfect roads. Even around town the rear suspension's sensitivity to bumps is obvious and when it encounters a pavement seam midcorner, the ass end will step out several inches. The chassis also wallows as though underdamped when told to brake hard on lumpy bitumen. No wonder the logbook entries ranged from "it feels unfinished" to "This chassis is a mess."
Imagine that with 300+HP, an extra 700lbs and RWD.

Haha...exactly what we preach around here....

Read through that cause I'm bored...they obviously don't understand the car. "My interior is better than theirs"....cool...I will put whatever fancy shit I want in on my own, I want a car that I love to drive....and now I have it.

That GC forum/thread reminded me of a short black coffee...some good strong points but ultimately...bitter.

And if you go to the Mustang or Camaro forums they are probably saying the same shit about the Genesis. I bet they even laugh at the "little V6" that you can get with the Genesis. Shit, they laugh at their own members that even mention the notion of modifying a V6.

If you want to talk about 'rivalries' and trash talking, the Camaro/Mustang guys are always ripping on each other. Being that I have owned many many different cars over the years, I can honestly say that each brand makes good cars and each brand has also made crap cars.
After a year or two, we'll all find out if the FR-S/BRZ are one or the other...

The whole experience will keep me away from Korean for a long time if not forever. Also if you think they're hating you should see the camaro forums.

I like the Genesis Coupe for what it is. It's too big for my personal tastes but it's a lot of car for the money.

Hyundai is somewhat like the Dell of cars... you get a LOT for the $, but the finished product simply isn't as polished as some of the other options out there.

I really admire what they've done and how they have made buying nice cars affordable for the masses, but I really wouldn't be in a hurry to buy one anytime soon.

Actually, that thread on the other forum had one comment I thought was very correct, about how the steering behaved when you went into a corner with too little gas (understeer, slow and settle, then bite). I noticed that behavior when I started driving the FRS, but don't notice it now. Coming from a truck, I used to coast into corners. Not any more!
