The dealership has kept my car since Thursday last week because they have to replace the whole fuel pump assembly due to their fck up when they attempted the recall a month ago. Is supposed to be ready by Thursday of this week.

I really miss my car. Putting the miles on another vehicle is nice, but the Forester is a gas fiend and doesn't handle as well as the BRZ on the back-roads on my way home. Is comfortable and roomy.

Absolutely was, particularly a Black Edition or Storm edition one.

Sadly, they are just too expensive to import, and even more expensive to convert LHD. That dream died a slow, agonizing death.

there was a tech bulletin for the 2013s to try to address the crickets. I had mine done just to zero out my fuel pump, but it had to be done under warranty.

There was an actual recall on later models for another purpose.

Welp, that will make you appreciate your BRZ even more, when you get it back -

There is one on the 18's and 19's for the in tank pump.

And only a handful of even them. It covers almost every other Subaru model as well. My wife had to have it done on her Outback

but then i fell in love early on with the dodge daytona. i don't remember anymore why i didn't buy it or wasn't allowed to for a first car, but i remember fantasizing about it...

Speaking of pumps, what do you think of that DI wire? Might it actually refer to some function related to direct injection?

Honestly. Haven’t had a chance to dig into it anymore. I’m thinking just making it simple. It’s really only a problem on one track right now.

I'm not the only one who wanted a Daytona?! Not even sure why. Still like the profile, but no interest any more. That interior!

I'm really racking my brain now on why I didn't take it home. It had to have cost too much for a broke high school kid. I remember which dealer that had it, remember watching it for a few weeks on the lot, stopping by after hours to look at it at least 5 or 6 times, and that's it...

Just sorta funny, as I don't think I've thought of that car until now, but the pic of the rx7 dug it up. I didn't even know what an rx7 was at that point.

And yea, the 80's-90's were some of the worst interior years for domestics. mechanical nightmares as well. As I told a buddy once, domestics are the few brands that can have literally everything go wrong, and still work well enough to not need to do anything about it..

But they sure looked pretty sitting out at the mechanics shop!

That's what new drivers are missing out on these days. The pain and suffering of car ownership.

Story time! My companies got a spare van we use for hauling material, or if more than 2 guys are going to the same job, the 3rd-4th persons will use that truck. It's old and half rotted, but recent market forces mean a replacement costs too much. It has a sporadic airbag light and a self-clearing misfire for a check engine light that the shops can't figure out and I can't care less about. It still runs.

Anyway, new young guy was 3rd guy going to a jobsite, so he gets the crap van. He starts it up and immediately runs back to ask me if it's ok to drive because "it's got the check engine light on!". I laughed and asked him if he checked that the engine was still there. He didn't get it.
