Port installed short shifter issues

So I had issues getting into 1st and 2nd without using the lockout collar.

Omw to service this morning merging onto the interstate the shift lever disconnected completely and left me stuck in 4th.

Was port installed in Brunswick.

This is why if it's not done at the factory, I do it myself

Update. Circlip and washer fell off as suspected, took less than an hour for the diagnostic and repair.

Here's hoping I'm the only one

Dang, that sucks. I saw a YT vid of someone installing it himself and it looks like he left it really loose. I bet he didn't secure that part correctly himself. Glad you're back up and running though!

Yes - he later followed up with this comment:

"Hey everyone I just want to write this out for anyone wondering why the shifter had so much play at the end. The small clip popped out and didn’t sit right causing the shifter to move left to right. I tested positive the day after recording this video and just been stuck at home resting. The next video I post I’ll include how the shifter is now which is so much better..."

I've got one of the Subaru shifter's on order (even though i won't have the car for months). First mod i ever did to my bugeye was the factory short shifter which i recently replaced with a Cobb short shifter (MUCH shorter shifts).

On my 2016 Brz I installed the kartboy shifter, transmission mount, Mtec springs and added motul within the first 1000 miles. Absolutely essential upgrade imo
