The neighborhood around my work is getting to the point I can't stay too much later after dark unless I want to come out to my truck with no tires/wheels, gas, other easy to remove parts.

Usually, but thankfully highly unlikely it ever comes to that. Even the really drugged out ones are not confrontational beyond shouting at the building from the sidewalk or passing traffic. We are mostly just tired of them stealing shit or trying to break into the building. Nothing we can do about that beyond reporting it.

special forces assessement and selection. It's the phase used to weed out recruits not 'fit' for SF. My job is to get this person in tip top shape before they leave early next year

That reminds me of the time, back in 1966, at Fort Benning, GA, when I was a 2nd Lt going through IOBC (Infantry Officer Basic Course).

We were encouraged to interview for Ranger School. As I was standing in line to be interviewed, I heard those before me aggressively pounding on the door and yelling to enter the interview room.

The soldier, 5 men in front of me, pounded on the door so hard he crashed through it. The interviewers thought that was GREAT!

As they were repairing the door, I did an about face and exited the interviewing building.

Nope, NO Ranger school for me (I thought, why break through a perfectly good door, when you could just open it) -

Yeah it's a special group for sure haha. Rangers would be fun to work with. I have heard many stories about ranger school. It wasn't something for me when I was in.
