We need do get rid of letting lapped cars pass the safety car. The Race director/Stewards gifted that win. Confirmed by Masi saying they did it for the "racing". Even though Lewis clearly had that race in the bag. GOD I hope the racing is close like this next year, but much less controversial. edit: Also pretty sure the rule is unlap all the cars or none at all. |

Crazy race. Didn't agree with the first lap no call for Max and Lewis. It was all for Lewis until the last lap safety car if course. Lewis did have chances to grab a set of tires at some points during the race. That came back to bite him.
Mercedes played it too safe. Along with the weird Masi call but Max won it without any controversy from his end which is good. |

That’s all she wrote. Checo killed it today and did his job well.
There’s been good and bad calls for both sides throughout the year. Ultimately it came down to a one lap sprint to the end, which I like. Mercedes chose to play it extremely safe and it cost them. They had multiple chances to pit again and chose not to to maintain track position. Ultimately, it cost them

So after more research.
Masi and the stewards broke their own rules. The rule clearly states if they allow the lapped cars to pass under a safety car it has to be all of them. I forsee Merc doing something about this very soon. Lewis never had a chance to pit for tires. Any of the times he could have pit they would have lost first to Max. Personally I think if there are so little laps left they should just red flag and do a standing start with all the unlapping undone that way. More laps. More racing. More fair. |

Great sportsmanship showed by Lewis & his dad going above all the controversy to congraz Max.
Toto losing his temper and getting physical on company equipment is not. All in all a close championship all year between these 2 & Happy for Max. And Bye Bye to Kimi. |

RB won this season. Their race strategy, mechanics, etc. Always one step ahead.

And there it is!
![]() Edit: and another. Protest against car 33: 48.8 With the exception of the cases listed under a) to h) below, no driver may overtake another car on the track, including the safety car, until he passes the Line (see Article 5.3) for the first time after the safety car has returned to the pits |

My take, Max earned it, driving the slower car, and just keeping up with Hamilton the whole race. Would have been better with a red flag, but when you consider L1 T6, I think it all evens out.
I learned my lesson betting against Hamilton on the race start, never again lol. Completely different start than I thought. Perez was fantastic. Not just the defending, but just his pace was where it needed to be for a podium. He deserved that podium, kind of sad they had to retire the car. Possibly because they secretly had Alonso in the car and didn't want anyone to find out? ![]() Edit:. Also, Max had a bit of a slide on the last turn. A bit risky for the guy in front... lol. Both protests officially dismissed by stewards. This officially means Max is 2021 champion and sour grapes for Merc/Lewis.
