If they're 6k below the others, just hand it over to CarMax or get a quote from Autonation and then ask them to match CarMax (they usually will) if it's lower.

I alluded to this in an earlier post, but will expand a bit since you're also in DFW. Autonation's online tool will route you to what I *think* is the nearest dealer, for me that was either Autonation Honda in Lewisville or BMW of Dallas. The brand of car appears to have no bearing (my BMW offer was routed to the Honda dealership). We also sold a car to CarMax in Irving ... even though we had an appointment they took 2.5 hours. No hassle, just lots of waiting. The two cars that went to Autonation took about 30-45min from walking through the front door to walking out with a check. In fact one of the Autonation reps let me send my license and paperwork over email so he could get it all ready, walked in, signed, walked out with money.

Not sure why Five-Star is playing games. They all use the latest wholesale auction data and know that if you don't give it to them you'll just give it to someone who offers you significantly more.
BTW - I was just about to ask this question. Is the only way to get the discount on the sales tax is to trade-in at the same place you buy the new car? If so, that is total B.S. If anyone knows the answer for Ohio, let me know.

Yep - only during the same purchase. It does not rollover or stay "banked" for your next purchase somewhere else. Ohio does allow you to deduct your trade-in from the new vehicle price to save on sales tax.

I know these things are normal in most dealers but in Bay Area I have been hearing horror stories.

Oh they also didn’t drill the front bumper!
Congrats! Part of me wish I went with Carlsen now when I ordered in October. I went with a different dealer and just found out they'll mark up and just put in another elsewhere. Eta is may now

When did you order yours?

So sorry to hear that the dealer went back on their word. Name and shame the dealer please.

My order was placed in September and was due December last week.

I texted my dealer and they said mine should arrive at the dealer on the 18th, but I know it doesn’t take 10 days to get to Athens. We’ll see (fingers crossed).

I'm pretty sure we ordered the same car, limited in Sapphire Blue and no installed port or dealer flair! The 10 day delay could be due to lack of trucks/drivers, I struggle with getting LTL freight pick ups for my office.

Diablo Subaru in Walnut Creek, CA. Granted that car hasn’t arrived/I’m anticipating they’re marking up based off of experiences that other members got their cars arrived recently. I’ll probably still head in to see and drive it. Will go from there. I was able to find another dealer that’ll order and sell via the VIP program so maybe a blessing in disguise.

Yeah, they were one of my options too. They were just a bit too far for me.
Its terrible what they are doing.

Can anyone confirm whether the Ambassador Program is dead? My salesperson suggested trying to track someone down for a voucher, but my research didn't turn up anything positive.

Yikes, nearly 6 more months to wait? Your other post mentioned it was Diablo Subaru.. I was planning on going there to check out one of the two they have in stock to test drive, and maybe get an order in if I liked it... but that's a rough, long wait. And hearing about last minute mark ups is absolutely lame. I never paid over MSRP and I don't plan on starting now.

Any other good dealers in the Bay Area? Carlsen? I'll still go to Diablo this weekend to at least test drive...

Sounds like somebody was able to get a MSRP ordered car at Carlsen. I just reordered @ Napa Subaru at MSRP (maybe a little less) as well. I think they're out there, just got to wait. With that said my ordered car will be coming to Diablo soon, looking forward to check it out.

MySubaru page updated, so I called SOA and they said the delivery date has moved from the 18th back to 11th. I am still hoping to get a call today though.

Mine was placed mid August! Still no sticker! I'm happy though yours will be in sooner!

Can people share the last 4 of their VIN? Or even something like XX## so that we roughly know the order of production?
