No lose to the throtle response sounds awesome me I was expecting there it be a little throttle reponse lost with a turbo.

If anything, I'd say it picked up on throttle response

Its quite apparent u have not even read any of this thread. Don has built this to be a no mod kit. straight boilt on motor likes 4 psi, made good hp/kw. Not everyone has 10k sitting there for a kit plus another 2-3 for a engine build.

Although I was imagining earlier today what it would be like to win $10,000. First thought came to mind as a turbo and getting super sideways.

I agree the GT2860rs is the proper turbo for this car. Who really needs more than the 340whp this turbo is capable of?

On the other hand, the larger gt2871r has been sluggish in comparison. If you are going that route, you might as well get the unclipped t31 turbine in a GT3071r. I've actually seen gains in response and power utilizing the gt3071r over the comparable gt2871r. What are your thoughts Don?

I myself will need much more than 340whp. Thats just me though. The larger 71R wheels are a bit sluggish. I could go as far as saying that the 3076r has a better response rate.

Oops, my comment was in regards to whoever asked about whether you'd lose throttle responce w this turbo kit. My answer was why would you lose responce when you've added a turbo to an NA engine, responce should be the same off boost.

It was in responce to beardo's post on page 80. Phone hadnt updated the thread so I didn't realize there were more posts after his

I'm really interested in this but I can't see myself voiding the warranty on a first year production car. Maybe in 3yr/36k I'll join the fun

Is there any issue with the turbo being under the car unprotected? I know the turbo will be getting extremely hot - what if you hit a puddle, could the casing crack from sudden temperature changes?

Love the build! Excellent job - I think once we know what the FA20 is capable of we'll be set. If it turns out to be as strong as a B16/18 or F20/F22 that would be truly amazing to be able to shove all kinds of boost down a stock engine ...highly doubtful with the compression ratio but you never know.

The factory under trays protect from water. You'd have to submerge the car after doing a heavy 4 gear pull before I would even blink an eye at it.

Its easy for me. If something were to happen to the engine I'll just make it better.

I honestly think the throttle response is better. The factory cars response is honestly not that good. Its not that its not getting the air, its just that it takes to long to turn it into usable power. The turbo makes up where the engine fails.

Not GTX3071R? Makes as much power as the old GT3076 with better response than a GTX3076R.

From testing on other vehicles the ramp response on the GTX3071R was not as good.
