Sounds like it is a box of processed food items that are visually less appealing because of flaws in, or damage to, the packaging but are nonetheless perfectly fine to eat because the damage has not broken any seals.

My sister in law gets her produce cheap because there is a place that takes in produce like that and sells it. Fresh suff that's fine to eat, just looks weird.

Lol, because it's too obscure for the internet!

At most flea markets in my area, there's always a booth that's always managed by a fresh-off-the-boat Chinese person that barely speaks English. Everything they sell is carried around in banana boxes. Most of their products are $0.25-$5 each, and a lot of it is stuff that normally goes into dollar stores, or is almost too obscure for dollar stores. Basically an Alibaba in real life.

My family has just always called them the banana box booths. we always make a point of stopping at them at flea markets because they've got good pricing on little baggies like that for my grandfather to sort his pills on trips, or on lint traps, etc.

Apparently it's a lower middle class thing
